29th Annual “Early Bird” Tournament 2009

TOURNAMENT RULES

~ The “spirit and intent” of this tournament is:

1. to provide a competitive format for all skill levels.

2. give each player the opportunity to play and have FUN!!!

~ Pre-Game Warm-up will be a maximum of  five (5) minutes.

~ All games are scheduled for 50 minutes.

~ Any/all players up to and including 6th grade students are eligible to play.

~ Basic MHSAA basketball rules.

~ Six (6) minute quarters.

~ Women’s basketball (28.5) will be used

~ Bonus foul shot on the 5th foul.

~ Double bonus on 8th team foul.

~ Foul shooter can shoot from the front dotted half circle.

~ Foul shooter can NOT be the first person to touch a missed free throw shot.  Penalty: violation.

~ Two (2) time outs (full 60 seconds) per game.  Carried over to second half, if necessary.

~ Half time is three (3) minutes.

~ NO full court pressing until the last two (2) minutes of the 4th quarter.

~ Over-time is two (2) minutes.  If 2nd overtime is needed...1st team to score wins.

~ NO additional time outs for any overtime period.  Maximum of two (2) per game.

~ Full court pressing IS ALLOWED during any overtime periods.

~ Coaches, please use your best judgment on selecting the players for your

    division “B” teams… 5th and 6th graders (less skilled).
